What We Collect

Data you provide

If you use the email capture feature (to save your budget or get price alerts), we collect your email address. This is entirely optional — the tools work fully without signing up.

Data collected automatically

• Pages visited, time on site, referring URL (via Google Analytics 4)
• Approximate city-level location (IP-based, used to auto-detect your departure city)
• Device type, browser, and OS (for performance optimisation)
• Heatmaps and click patterns (via Microsoft Clarity)

Data stored locally in your browser

We use localStorage to remember your recent destination searches, your last trip calculation, and your cookie consent choice. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.

How We Use It

• Email: Only to send the budget copy you requested, or price-drop alerts you opted into. We send no marketing email without explicit consent.
• Analytics: To understand which destinations are most searched, which tools are used, and where the site is slow or confusing — so we can improve it.
• Location: Solely to pre-fill your departure city in the budget calculator. Not stored beyond your session.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party for marketing purposes.

Cookies & Analytics

We use the following services that may set cookies or collect usage data:

• Google Analytics 4 — usage statistics. Google Privacy Policy
• Microsoft Clarity — session recordings and heatmaps. Microsoft Privacy Policy
• EmailJS — email delivery when you save a budget. EmailJS Privacy Policy

You can decline analytics cookies using the banner shown on your first visit. Note that core calculator functionality does not require any cookies.

Third Parties

Factvisit contains affiliate links to booking platforms (Booking.com, Agoda, Klook, Skyscanner). Clicking these links may set cookies from those services. We earn a small commission if you make a booking — this never affects the budget estimates we show you, which are based on independent data.

Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP) and applicable global privacy laws, you have the right to:
